Aniseed is a warm, spicy essential oil with a strong liquorice aroma. Refreshing to the mind, Aniseed stimulates and awakens. Traditionally used in aromatherapy to soothe the digestive system and help calm an upset stomach.

Also traditionally used for relieving the symptoms of respiratory conditions.

,This botanical species is also referred to as Star Anise. The essential oil is a clear to pale yellow colour.

Method of Extraction

Steam distilled from the fresh or partly dried fruits that house the seeds.

Method of Application

Compress: Blend 1 drop of Aniseed with 2ml massage oil and add to a warm damp cloth - place over abdomen to help calm spasms. Inhalation: Diffuse in an ultrasonic diffuser to help support the respiratory system.

Blends well with Sweet Orange, Lemon, Bergamot and Sandalwood.

Safety 

Aniseed is not generally used in skin applications and may cause sensitivity. Avoid during all stages of pregnancy and lactation. Avoid using with children under 5 years. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
